Experience: Since 1996, I've contributed features and reviews about modern games to GQ, Spin and Time Out New York. I am also the author of
Arcade Fever: The Fan's Guide to the Golden Age of Video Games (2001), a tribute to Donkey Kong and other quarter-sucking classics. For more than you'd ever want to know about me, check out my blog
Angry John Sellers, my 2007 music memoir
Perfect From Now On: How Indie Rock Saved My Life, and
my website.
Platforms: Not counting the Intellivision, Atari 2600, NES or Apple IIe, I am partial to games on the Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3 and Mac. I haven't yet been won over by the Wii, and I have never and will never own a PC.
Preferred genres: First-person shooters, racing titles, sports games, role-playing games, brain-teasers and classic arcade games.
