Actor Who Inspired Nathan Drake Wants to Be Nathan Drake
We live in a divided country. Sure, we can’t agree on whether to allow gays to marry or women to have abortions, and we’re constantly bickering about the differences between red and blue states. We know Barack Obama’s got a bit on his plate these days being King of the World or whatever his official title is, but if there’s one cause Mr. Obama can swing his weight behind, it’s this: Nathan Fillion wants to be Nathan Drake.
Nathan Fillion took to the streets this week (okay, Twitter) to advocate for his casting as Nathan Drake in the recently announced Uncharted movie. Three Kings and upcoming The Fighter director David O. Russell was recently announced to direct after dropping out of the Pride & Prejudice & Zombies production. In a decision that even a coke-addicted movie executive could see, the casting of Fillion is almost too smart to ignore, as Fillion’s brash charisma and notable wisecracks work perfectly for the character of Nathan Drake.
However, Collider reported that there may be some obstacles before Fillion gets cast. There is the slight problem that Columbia Pictures may prefer a younger actor considering Fillion is nearing 40, though we’d just like to point out that Harrison Ford was 39 at the start of Raiders of the Lost Ark. There’s also the problem of working a filming schedule around his television commitments on Castle, though we’re not going to let that deter us from pitching Captain Hammer as Drake.
Be sure to tweet the hashtag #NathanFillionforNathanDrake on Twitter and let the word spread.
